Great Wines Begin in the Vineyard
What gives our wines the extraordinary flavors, depth, colors, and aromas comes largely from the time and care we put into the cultivation of our grapes. We meticulously thin and groom the vine canopies so the phenolics on the grape skins develop fully, this gives the fruit those deep flavors. We utilize a mostly organic and natural approach to fertilizers and pesticides. We promote the growth of proper cover crops as its better for the soil, water retention, and for the attraction predator insects to control pests that would do our vines harm. During harvest, we pick only the fruit that is ready to crush and re-pick as the additional fruit ripens properly. All of these practices and more give us that edge in producing our great wines that celebrate the flavors of the fruit.
Currently we have 21 acres of vineyards with the majority being Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Our other varietals growing in approximate one acre blocks include Malbec, Zinfandel, Sangiovese, Tempranillo, Syrah, Petit Syrah, Petit Verdot and a smaller block of Pinot Noir.
